Murky Mirror

BorgMan

In a freak chain of events, the USS Cole finds something completely unnerving after reacting to a too familiar distress call. But why this "ISS Cole" is orbiting a decaying planet and why a giant red warning is painted on her hull, nobody knows yet...

Major work in progress! That biohazard thing needs to be weathered more than it is now; it looks good from up close but at a distance of a 1000 meters you just don't notice it that much... The idea came from the Psi 2000 virus, until I read that that's actually just a chain of watermolecules that only "acts" as a virus. Pondering on what to do with it...

[EDIT] @Ptrope could you add Twisted October to the title? I forgot in my haste...

Thanx!

Here's the bridge. For those that know the story behind the frame, this shouldn't come as a surprise, but the idea here is that lots of it is dirt cheap. Utopia Planitia used the same bridge design they've put into the Nimitz carrier here, though with a lot of consoles less. Actually... everything in the back from this shot is empty. And as these ships are so cheap, it's not an uncommon First Command assignment. Some of those captains outfit their bridge with extra material, extra consoles, a situation table like on the Nimitz, anything they can get their hands on. The Cole's captain, Paul Morgan, isn't sure just yet what to do with all that extra space. And if he's unlucky enough, he might never need to worry about it either...
