Hi everyone. I have a network related question.
I have a computer that serves as a license server for ansys and Unigraphics NX4 (CAD program). Both program are using the Flexlm manager of the licenses. Due to limited number of licenses I need to block specific computer (I have the computer names) from access the server/licenses but I don't have any clue how to do so (if it's possible at all).

the OS is windows server 2003.

any help would be appreciated.

Are you using FLEXNet? It can block specific users/groups and also limit the number of licenses per group.

Otherwise, you are probably looking at setting up a local security policy for each of the systems you want to deny.

Is there some reason you can't just not have the software installed on those computers, so they can't use up the licenses at all?

If it's server 2003, you can set up individual login accounts and restrict specific resource access to certain users while permitting full control to others. That's what servers excel at!
