Ms offer life line to 360 core/arcade owners .

That's cool. My parents bought my brother a 360 Arcade last year (it was the cheapest one, they didn't know the difference), and now his birthday's coming up again. A new 20GB HDD would be a cool present for him.

Suddenly the people who bought the 'tard pack' don't seem so stupid, hey? ;)

What, are you suggesting they had a flash of clairvoyance?

Not a bad deal. Although as a premium owner I'm thinking "where's MY deal?".

If they said "premium owners get 120gb for £40" tomorrow I'd jump at it.

Well i gave this a go with a old core i had sitting around that i was just about to eBay.......it offered me a refurb 20gig HDD for £12.99.....delivered

Now that's more like it MS.

Pretty sweet deal. Would it apply if I went out a bought one now (eg on ebay), or is it only to folks who bought one through regular channels before a certain date?

Yeah, I'm with you buddy. Maybe I'm just being totally unreasonable, but I'm a little shocked that the people who were too cheap and/or ignorant to buy the Premium model are getting handouts from MS. I know a lot of this was MS' stupidity in the first place for trying to foist half-baked packs to consumers, but c'mon - the people who bought the Core/Arcade models weren't lied to, for goodness' sake.

I haven't found this sentiment expressed anywhere else, so maybe I am just off my trolley.

Well that old core i had was second hand, and i could tell it was a core because it came with the plastic mesh cover where the HDD would be, but it was also not ever registered online...so i think that's how i got lucky.

But if you were to by a core still boxed and unopened with a 64meg card i have no doubt it would work.....although i have no idea if MS will allow people who bought core/arcades with the 256meg card to get the same deal.
