MP4 help, please

I was wondering if any of you computer wizards can help me. I have an MP4 video that unfortunately has been filmed with a camera rotated by 90°. Is there any program out there that could allow me to rotate it back so it's visible in a normal way? :)

Ha ha ha. :p

This video has to end up on YouTube, that's why I need to turn it around. I'm trying to help a friend who is even more clueless than me.

I think quicktime does it... Not sure whether Windows movie maker does the trick...

It looks like one of the options in VirtualDubMod will do this (Filters, Add Filter, Rotate). I just don't know if it will open a MP4 file. I don't even have one to test with. :(

^^ Mine doesn't. I don't seem to have any programs that can edit an MP4.

I don't have an full answer for you, but I can give you some facts on things already mentioned.

- Quicktime Pro will do this, but it's $30. There are signs that the next Quicktime update will give the 'pro' features to the free version, but that's probably not until the end of the summer.

- I have no idea if Windows movie maker will do this, but avoid it anyway. It will convert it to WMV before it even touches it. Heck, come to think of it, YOU may have to do that before it touches it! More trouble than it's worth.

- I don't know if this will rotate, but try MPEG Streamclip. It opens almost anything and saves back as almost anything. And it's free.

Thanks for all the suggestions! :)

Right now I'm trying to use Locutus' little free program, it will take a few more minutes since the file is about 30Mb, but it looks like it's doing its job. Not only, it is automatically converting it from MP4 into AVI, which is good in my book.

The only thing is, it forced me to install the Ask.com searchbar. But it's no biggie, I'll just uninstall it when I'm done. :shifty:
