MOVIES that STILL aren't available on DVD!?!?

Carrying on from the TV shows that STILL aren't available on DVD!?!? thread, I've been thinking about Movies that STILL aren't available on DVD!?!?.

Just today I went looking for The Jerky Boys (1995)(if only for the Ozzy cameo), and there seems to have been a Region 2 release, and some digital availability, but it's pretty telling when you go to ebay and all you can find are old VHS tapes.

When I want a movie, I want the DVD or BD. I might then rip it to digital to watch on the computer or get screengrabs & clips.

It took years for Yellowbeard to come out on DVD, and now I have the blu-ray, so there's always some hope. Same with Student Bodies (1981), which was one seriously obscure movie.

What are you all still waiting for on physical media?

Old Hammer movies can be spotty when it comes to the USA. Some are readily available, but others are relative rarities, like Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde.

Whether you like the movie or not, I think it would be of historical value to have "Song of the South" released on DVD and blu-ray as a limited edition for the adult collector, complete with an introduction by Leonard Maltin with furrowed brow telling us how ignorant people were in those days, and how we should only study such antiquated works academically and never be entertained by them.

I've been addicted to the Youtube clip Don't Let Me Down since discovering it a couple of months ago. I've been digging the song and the video's so clear and I like the alternate footage just focusing on The Beatles performing. I'm curious what PJ will dig up.

And a rant:
It will probably never happen especially with all the new streaming services erupting and competing but I wish you could buy movies like MP3s. I'd love to be able to buy DRM-free digital downloads as an alternative to physical media. I don't want to buy a permanent streaming license from one vendor, I want to possess it like I do a DVD or Blu-Ray but would like to just have a digital file. I have a closet full of discs just consuming space most of the time but I like knowing I can always access them and I would rather buy a copy than go through the trouble of burning them. Seems like at least for some older/niche movies they could do this.

I'm not suggesting they have to give up their copyright or ownership of the movies as is the case with PD movies but I'd like to be able to just buy a digital copy that I don't need to watch via a specific streaming platform. I'd like to buy say a copy of Buckaroo Banzai but not need to watch it only on Amazon, or only on iTunes, or only on Google, etc. etc. It sucks that the only way to do that is to pirate it or make an unauthorized ripped copy.

As a crusty old guy who only ever buys physical media or watches on demand, this whole paragraph is a foreign concept to me.

It occurs to me that perhaps I've become a relic from in between technologies where maybe a majority of people now understand playing an old school Blu-Ray disc or streaming from a cloud-based service but wouldn't know what to do with a digital file.

I prefer the physical media, as my 3 shelving units worth of DVD's & BD's indicates.

But if I could only get a favorite movie via digital download, I'd go that way if like @Mr. Adventure says, I could watch it anywhere, as many times as I like. As far as I know, those UV digital downloads, in addition to having and expiry date for the DL, have other limitations as well.

This is why, when I had my desktop running, ripped whatever I wanted digital copies of. My laptop only has a DVD drive, so I can do DVD's now, but I buy any new stuff of BD when available.

Basically he’s saying that he wishes that he could download an MP4 to a USB stick and play it anywhere. Problem is, especially with movies under copyright, the studios would never allow that as people could make their own copies for their friends. That’s why movies bought on iTunes will only play on iTunes or an Apple device. They are security coded to iTunes.

It’s like in the VHS days. When you bought a VHS tape all you owned was the plastic case and videotape. The information on the tape was only licensed and you did not own it.
