mouse problem

i'm using a mouse (optical black dell job came with the PC) and for some reason lately it keeps acting up. when i click it's like i've double-clicked. IE, when i press the back button to go back one page, i shoot back 2. it's also playing up when i try to click and drag stuff...

any suggestions? (don't say get a new mouse)

try going into your mouse properties and adjusting your double-click sensitivity. Did your mouse come with a dedicated driver? Did you install it? If so, try running the program to see if there's not a click/double-click function or troubleshooter.

tried that, didn't work. the first thing.

as for teh drivers, i'm assuming it was preinstalled since it was a Dell mouse that came with the Dell PC...

Worn out micro-switches is quite likely. When you depress it, the contacts are not sharp off-on, so it registers as several little clicks instead.

I suggest a new mouse
