Most stupid junk mail

I was just deleting my junk mail and wondered, what do you people have there? Lately I have been getting lot's of penis enlargement offerings. Slightly paradox because I'm a girl.

Anyway, what about you?

Funny you mention that. Apparently there was a big dip in spam e-mails recently.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12126880

The amount of junk e-mail being sent across the globe has seen a dramatic fall in recent months.

The volume of spam has dropped steadily since August, but the Christmas period saw a precipitous decline.

One security firm detected around 200 billion spam messages being sent each day in August, but just 50 billion in December.

While the reasons for the decline are not fully understood, spam watchers warn the lull may not last.

Around the Christmas holidays, three of the largest spam producers curtailed their activity, Paul Wood, a senior analyst at Symantec Hosted Services told BBC News.

"But it's hard to say why," he added.

First the birds falling from the sky, now spam declining. What next, dogs and cats living together? ;)

I have a lot of those. I also get a lot of European lottery ones, genuine Rolex watches (no, really :vulcan:) ones, cheap drugs ones, and this morning I actually had one titled "Nigerian Beneficiary", which made me laugh out loud. Those Nigerian princes don't give up easily, do they? ;)

The spam filter on gmail works great for me so I haven't looked at spam email in ages.

^The occasional mailing list email that I may want to read goes into my spamboxes sometimes, so every few weeks I skim those boxes to make sure I've not missed any wanted emails. There are always, always the same scam emails in the spambox.

Ooh, I just remembered about all those Russian girls who are eager to meet me, the majority of whom are named Natasha. How's that for coincidence?

I think the best way to stop spam mail would be for ISPs to introduce a very small charge for e-mail (maybe 1c per 100 emails sent). This way massive email sendouts would become unprofitable but regular emailers would hardly be affected by the charge.

Where do I begin lol!

*Various Emails from people with the title "Make Money Now"
*The Same Email from someone who has been saying "Last Chance To Claim" for the past three years!
*Badly designed Porn Spam links with scrambled words to slip up the Spam Filter
*Usual assortment of "Penis Enlargement", "Weight Loss" and "Build Muscle Easy"

Its amazing why people bother doing this...Surely no one in the World is so gullible to fall for this kind of nonsense? (But obviously there is people who do!)

I got an email from Frank Woodward one day. I was shocked because that is the name of my ex-husband who I hadn't heard from in over 20 years and I don't want to hear from ever again. I decided to click on the email in case he was trying to re-enter my life (better to know it if it was true than just ignore the fact) and discovered it was only a spam letter and I realised that someone probably sent to email out using a name-generator name.

Ever since I registered on a Russian gay site I've been getting weekly marriage proposals from Russian women... I know: never let a Russian site know your e-mail -and I should just discard that particular address, after all I'm only using it to 'spam back' (Russian marriage proposal bots don't understand l33t!!ONE!1! :rommie: )

I once got an email that said something along the lines

Miss Chicken - do you need a penis enlargement.

Well, lately I get mails from a Russian girl named Julia S who is very persistent about finding a man to have a "strong" family with.

Other than that, mostly viagra and penis enlargement mails as usual. (Are there really people who fall for these?)

Personally, I mostly enjoy the mails from people who are looking for you in order to hand over to you large amounts of money... :D

I don't know that I would call it being gullible. If you have ever desperately wanted something so badly, it is easy to lose your rationality. Then along comes something that to your mind offers hope, and you jump on it, regardless of how absurd the idea might seem under normal circumstances.

The next time you get an ad for penis enlargement, reply, and ask if they have anything for penis reduction. :D

I once got a "pre-approved" credit card offer, and it said approval was guaranteed, so I sent it in, only to get a letter back that I was not approved... :(

The ones that amuse me are the ones from "The US Government" that are filled with spelling errors and use a Yahoo email address.

Oh, those are epic. You know, i won a "grean kard" not so long ago. So now, i can live and work in the states. Got any suggestions? I'm thinking Maine. I know a lot of people there. But California seems interesting too. :)
