What is the most personal or moving experience you've had in Star Trek Online? Personally it was the loss of a crew member thy happened to share my IRL name. The mission had a low chance of success but it was simply a diplomatic mission with the Klingons so I sent my best diplomat. This diplomat happened to share my surname so I was very fond of him. I failed the mission and those Klingon bastards killed him. I have rarely felt such loss and knew exactly what admiral Kirk felt at the loss of his son. It took years to accept Klingons as more than murderous monsters. However now I'm happy to command a ship named after a Klingon.
What's your most moving moment in STO? Was it a mission? A moment? Or maybe just seeing your new ship in space dock for the first time? Drop a line and share your experience.

I had just completed a Borg-themed Deep Space Encounter (I believe the mission title is "Assimilate the Barbarians") and was still in the sector with two other player's ships. One of them messaged me afterwards asking if my ship name, the USS Allegheny, had come from the video game Starfleet Command. It did, and I told them so. It was a simple exchange, and I never heard from the player again, but it was a profound experience.

Sounds like it was a great moment for you. I've noticed the STO community is pretty awesome.

Haha. Sorry to hear your experience was less than stellar. I wish I had an old lifetime sub, there are so many great benefits to it. I spent months searching for an old STO retail boxes to get the benefits, but never found one. Thank you for reminding us of the bad that can come along with the good. It's kind of like being stabbed in the heart by an aggressive alien while being a fresh ensign. Who knows what you would be like without that experience. Thanks for sharing

One of my crew was blown to bits on Christmas Day a few years back while building a new warp core. I'd have settled for some socks.
