Most Miscast Character in Trek...

Third place goes Bernie Casey who played Sisko's friend in "The Maquis" two-parter. He could teach a forest about being wooden.

Yes! This is a horribly distracting 'peformance'. He seemed to be reading his lines off an autocue and even then they were so rough and disjointed that I swear they were pasted together from various takes in the editing suite.

Most of the time Jadzia was just a pretty girl trying to seem smart, it was hard to see all the wisdom and experience Dax was supposed to have.

Surely that's not a fault of the actress? The writers themselves didn't have a clue what to with Dax until Blood Oath came about.

I always found that to be true more of Ezri. Jadzia was pretty but knew how to deal with it, or tried to, while hoping that people would see past her looks and see her intelligence. And I found her pretty smart- both theoretically and
when it came to running tests, piloting ships, planning etc. She seemed to make more use of Dax than Ezri did, with less confusion and tantrums, and she was also more diverse- SF science officer with fighting skills, Dabo skills, a range of Fed. abilities- fixing things, piloting, diplomacy etc. She rarely seemed to falter. And she seemed to have a better handle on herself, considering what was going on in her mind...

Guest Star: The guy in the shower curtain from "And the Children Shall Lead"

When it comes to regulars/recurring players...by series.

1. Denise Crosby as Tasha Yar, hardly seems like some one who'd ducked "rape gangs" in her youth on a failed colony

2. Must...not...pick...on Terry Farrell...uh...the guy that played Shakar...like twice or whatever or Bernie Casey...who did phone it in from a wood factory.

3. Robert Beltran as Chakotay, sooo laid back and agreeable for an armed resistance leader.

4. Dominic Keating as Malcom Reed, maybe it was just the character as written, but why did the security/tactical officer seem the most metrosexually meek of all the male cast members? Travis could get by as a non-entity.

I always thought Kate Mulgrew as Janeway was bad casting. There was something about her that just didn't say "Starfleet Captain" to me. Granted sher was the runner up but from the little footage I've seen of Geneviève Bujold in the role she wasn't any worse.

Ethan Phillips as Neelix.
I thought the role would show Neelix as a kind of interstellar Davy Crockett, but Phillips played him like an interstellar waiter.
A very annoying waiter.

I agree with you both about these characters. Though I really thought just about the entire cast of Voyager was casted badly. Robert Picardo as the Doctor and the later Jeri Ryan as 7 of 9 were the best casted.

whats funny is those are the only two chars I liked from that show (the Doctor and 7), everyone else just seemed bland to me
