Most irritating wives...

Who had the most irritating wife on Trek, I think the wife/wifes of Harcourt Fenton Mudd wins this contest hands down. It's been over 30 years since I saw "Mudds Women" and "I Mudd" and I can still hear their shrill voice in my mind, loved when he created robotic wifes and when they started screaming at him and then he would say "Shut Up" and their voice trails off to in nothing, loved it...

Resistance is Futile

Lwaxana Troi . . . no wonder we never saw Mr Troi . . . oh wait . . . he died

anyway . . .

I find Keiko and Jadzia to both be extremely inherently annoying, but Keiko takes the cake as the epitome of inherently annoying.

Keiko was kind of bitchy, but she was also in a very tough position and gave up her career (for awhile at least) to travel to DS9. I'll cut her a little slack for that.

Jadzia was just awful though. You marry a guy who hates to look ridiculous more than anything, and you spend half of your time TRYING to do just that?? But on DS9 Jadzia "Mary Sue" Dax could basically get away with murder and never get called out on it.

I rather like Lwaxana, myself, but Mudd's wife had virtually no redeeming qualities. She was very well performed

Nah, I liked Keiko (look what she had to put up with while trying to be a responsible parent!) and Jadzia.

Lwaxana, on the other hand... I kinda felt embarrassed for her, even though she was funny at times. What about the Skyreean woman? Can you imagine being married to her? Not that I have a huge problem with their gender structure... :p But her temper tantrums when she didn't get her own way... and its not like that part of Bajor just didn't have the man-power to be planted- it was radio active! A hoe can't fix that.

I didn't care fore Eddington's wife either...

Aww but Luxwana was hilarous, I did feel sorry for D'eanna though most have been a nightmare for her. Glad she isnt my mother.

Lwaxana Troi was very annoying but i would have to agree that Keiko O'brien is more annoying then her though not by much

I think I'm the only one who likes Lwaxana, she seems fun. O'Brian for sure.

Just curious Marie1, why did you dislike Eddington's wife? She wasn't onscreen long and I don't remember her doing anything obnoxious.

I found her bossy and mouthy yet without any command presence at all. She had no emotion, and yet talked like she did- which is worse than none at all. And terrible timing... getting her husband to come get her, didn't seem that excited to see him... but was happy to give a historical account while they were under fire!! Then her little "we must go back for him!!" then Sisko said no... so off she walks...

I need to check and see if she was the same woman I didn't like from another Maquis episode... but while under fire and trying to escape Jem'Hadar- move quickly, move quietly, and don't get into an argument about whether you're going to a Federation prison or now while Sisko is around!!! For crying out loud...

I mean, Keiko gave up her career, trying raise her kids on a dangerous dirty station with a husband that was nice, but a big child... no one appreciated her, she rarely got together with other people it seemed. She tried to jump start her career, but had to go far from her husband, the Bajorans were always whining when she was a teacher cuz she wanted to teach the kids science, I mean, the kids weren't getting a shortage of religion at home, and if they were, it was their parents fault. She was possessed, almost blown up, had to have her son by another woman, was accosted by Quark... yet still stuck with her husband, and tried to make it all work while raising what looked to be some nice, well-rounded kids...

What was her name anyway, Rebecca? Well I agree that she seemed to leave a little too quickly. Maybe she knew Eddington would have wanted her to leave? In her defense, I think the whole plan to have Eddington come get her was cooked up by both of them.
