Most Anticipated Summer Movies?

What movies are you looking forward to the most this summer?

I'm pretty excited about this summer. Lots of big sequels. Much bigger than last year!

1. PIRATES 4: I love all the Pirates movies, and dropping Will and Elizabeth can only help!
2. THOR: Not my favorite super hero but I'm definitely looking to this.
3. Transformers 3: I liked the second one, sue me. Hopefully this one has a better script. I'd be more excited if I'd seen a trailer or knew what it was about.
4. Super 8: Mysterious JJ Abrams movie about 1950s aliens? Sounds great!
5. Captain America: maybe I need a real trailer but I'm a little so-so on this so far.
6. Green Lantern: it's my favorite comic but the footage I've seen has me DEEPLY concerned about how good the CGI is, along with the extremely poor choice of villain(s).
7. Harry Potter 8: the movie will be AMAZING but it's hard to get excited about something I know every sentence of.
8. Kung Fu Panda 2: really loved the first one, hope they maintain that quality.
9. X-Men First Class: I love X-Men but I'm having a hard time being excited about this 60s period piece.
10. Cowboys & Aliens: extremely intriguing trailer.

Deathly Hallows, Part 2 takes the cake for me. Several other sequels (Cap, Thor, Pirates, X-Men) look like they could be good.

Green Lantern, I have to say, just looks incredibly generic.

Summer movies:

1.X-Men:First Class
2.Green Lantern
3.Captain America: First Avenger
4.The Tree of Life
5.Thor
6.Super 8
7.Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II
8.Cowboys and Aliens
9.Transformers: The Dark of the Moon
10.Friends With Benefits

Highly anticipated Summer movies:

< X-Men: First Class
Thor
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
The Hangover: Part II
Super 8
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II
Cowboys & Aliens

Not highly anticipated, but will still probably go see:

Green Lantern (looks terrible, but I want it to be good)
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
Captain America: The First Avenger
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
Conan the Barbarian

Cowboys and Aliens, Super 8 and Xmen is about it so far out of what y'all listed. I'll get Cap and GL and Thor because my kid will want them but no rushing to the theater to see them....

I would like to , Harry Potter , Twilight's next part , Hangover 2 !

Let's see. Pretty much in order of anticipation:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Thor
Captain America
Cowboys and Aliens
Green Lantern
Super 8
X-Men: First Class
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Strangely, this year would be the first that the annual Pixar movie doesn't break into the list. Cars was their weakest entry to date, and a sequel just doesn't scream must see to me.

Just in release order, since I haven't put much thought into it...

Thor
Pirates 4 (though I still need to watch Pirates 3)
X-Men: First Class
Green Lantern
Cars 2
Transformers 3
Harry Potter 7.2
Captain America
Friends with Benefits
Cowboys and Aliens

Thor
Green Lantern
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
X-Men: First Class

Cowboys and Aliens, Harry Potter, and to a lesser extent, Super 8.

Green Lantern is something that seems like it could be cool but could also be screwed up fairly easily, I'm witholding judgment until some reviews are in.

Not to be a complete ass to fans of both franchises but Captain America and Thor have both seemed like two of the cheesiest super heroes to me (knowing nothing at all about their back story). Maybe there is potential for good movies there but it seems hard to believe from a layman's perspective.

I am over-saturated with both Pirates and X-Men at this point. I'll probably never watch the new sequels.

Overall this is looking to be a rather lackluster summer film season for me. Even the Pixar offering this year seems weak. 2012 is looking a lot better with the new Batman, Star Trek and the new Alien(esque) film from Ridley Scott.

Captain America: The First Avenger I really hate that sub-title
Kung Fu Panda 2 I really loved the first one which surprised me, it was Dreamworks' best animated film IMO
Green Lantern About time the other DC heroes got the big treatment!
Super 8 I admit I have to see/know more about the film before deciding but being it's from Abrams and Spielberg is a plus in my book
Cowboys and Aliens seems like a fun film
And actually the film I look most forward to seeing is actually coming out on Friday (Battle: Los Angeles) and I know it's not a summer film.

i will, hopefully, see Thor, Fast 5, Pirates 4, X-Men: First Class, Transformers 3, Kung-Fu Panda 2, Captain America, Cars 2 and Conan; but the first five on that list and Cap America and the definites and Thor, TF3 and Cap are the ones i most want to see.

Pirates of the Caribean: On Stranger Tides
Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

Not overly excited, but will see anyway:
Thor
Green Lantern
X-Men: First Class
Captain America

Yeah, I love Pixar, but Cars just felt like extremely generic kiddie fare to me.

I have a four year old that is pumped for Cars 2. Funny thing was... we bought the DVD for his older brother who never liked it. Plus, Cars is a damned merchandising machine, which is why we're seeing a sequel. They still have toys on the shelf for it five years after its' release (trust me... I've been picking them up once a week for the last two years solid ).

I'm looking forward to Green Lantern, Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens

Somehow i can't get really excited about this summers movies, at least not to the level of Lord of the Rings or the new Star Trek movie.

I'll be definitely seeing most of them.. Harry Potter is a given even though i know how it all turns out (reading books helps ;)), i like big CGI 'splosions from time to time so Cap America, Thor, T3 is also on my list as well as maybe Pirates 4 (Johnny Depp as Sparrow is just delightful) and Kung Fu Panda 2 (the first movie rocked).

Come to think of it.. that's most of the movies of the list . However none of these i'll must see on the first weekend or during the week on its premiere night.. that's reserved for very special films that interest me personally.

Do you really need to read the books to know how it turns out? Does Voldy pull a big upset? :rommie:

Most of the franchise/comic book/etc movies are a big bore to me. But it's no different this year than any other. Fall is when the good movies finally start to appear.
