More on the YA Academy nuTrek books

A little more info on the first two YA nuTrek books, The Delta Anomaly and The Edge, the former about a serial killer bumping off SFA students and the second about the stresses of academy life. Further academy books are teased.

ROFl... defineatly teenage books... I mean come on, he is on the Academy for three years. With all that stuff going on in the books, when did he have the time to study? And I mean study in the sense of sitting at a table, looking into books, reading and learning!

Every student knows exactly that studies take time... But I forgot that the new James Kirk was designed as an uber-Wesley-Crusher-genius... I mean, who get's promoted to the captain of the fleet's finest ship as a 3rd year student other than him...

ROFl... defineatly teenage books... I mean come on, he is on the Academy for three years. With all that stuff going on in the books, when did he have the time to study? And I mean study in the sense of sitting at a table, looking into books, reading and learning!

How is that different from any ongoing adventure series? With the ship getting into adventures every week, how does the crew have time to file reports, do maintenance, etc.? How does Jessica Fletcher or Rick Castle manage to write novels while solving homicides every week? (Though it's to Castle's credit that they actually made that a plot point last season.) How does Clark Kent hold down a job at the Daily Planet when he's constantly disappearing to save the world? All serial adventure fiction depicts characters whose lives are unrealistically packed with adventures that would leave them too little time for the other aspects of their lives. It's the nature of the genre, and has nothing to do with the age of the target audience.
