More Nimoy in sequels?

Well I'm the type that thinks, if they have him in the sequal it's not a deal-breaker for me. Same thing if he's not.

I think it depends on the story. If they're going to make a movie dealing with the aftermath of Vulcan's destruction (and they need to deal with this at least some way in the next movie) then it seems like Nimoy would be natural to be in the movie. There might be stories to tell about Old Spock's interactions with the young crew and Starfleet, and Vulcan.

It just depends, I'm not saying I need Nimoy in the next movie to enjoy it, but I think certain stories would call for it and others wouldn't. I'm glad they left the possibility there.

If he's in the next movie I must admit I would be more inclined to see it.....but I can't help thinking that it will detract from what I also hope to see, namely a proper, cerebral TOS style story.

We'll see.

And get something (with Nimoy) ala Star Trek V? I certainly hope not. There's definitely room for cerebral moments in the next movie, just like there were in this first movie. I really hope they bring Nimoy back for the next movie... even if its for a small-ish role like this. But involve Vulcan and the new colony in some (small) way.

I tend to agree, but I just love Nimoy's Spock. He's probably one of my favorite characters of all time. I could watch him all day.

Nimoy makes any role that he does special. It was nice to see him on Star Trek again.:techman:

No thanks, it worked well for this film, but leave him out from now on.

Thrilled they didn't just predictably kill him off though.

I wouldn't have him in ST12, but a defining role in a ST13, with a brave proposal to the federation for peace with Romulus, and perhaps a reunification between the remaining Vulcans and Romulans. With the Enterprise protecting the Ambassador Spock on the peace mission, and the Klingons trying to stop the treaty going ahead. So peace with the Romulans as opposed to the Klingons.

Well, they did leave the door open, that with the fact that, as Spock said to Spock, there are so few of them left that it doesnt make sense not to talk to young Spock.

Its a nice touch, and a nice end. It was well done, the fact that at first, Spock was reluctant for Spock to know of alternate future Spocks existence then his human half came into its own and he decided it was time to bite the bullet and talk with him.

Personall, it was a neat little story for Nimoy to work with, ended nicely with a poingant voice over (which i wasnt expecting in the slightest.)

Who knows, maybe he will turn out to be a ' to go to' guy for either Kirk or Spock, a kind of voice of reason.

yes, vulcan society needs rebuilding and Spock can be a leader in that endeavour since he has memory of the other timeline.

But likely he will have to change his identity for security reasons and not reveal who he really is or where he came from because of the sensitive knowledge he retains.
