Moments of pure childishness

While I am technically a grown up (turn 28 this month), I still have regular moments of pure, unbridled childishness.

For example, the other night, I was watching the TOS episode Catspaw and was giggling uncontrollably at the bit near the end where the woman is coming onto Kirk and Spock says 'Don't let her touch the wand, Jim.' (I'm actually giggling as I write it )

So, I was wondering, what are your moments of pure childishness?

I couldn't possibly tell you all the times I can be less more mature than I am (and I'm 28 in October) as it quiet a bit of the time, in a way I'm a bit like DiNozzo from NCIS in the fact that being serious is a lot less than being "fun." I count myself as an adult, just not grown up yet.

I don't know about childishness, but sometimes people think I'm not taking things seriously, when in fact I am.

Taking things seriously and enjoying the moment are not mutually exclusive. The ability to do both simultaneously is an important part of self-actualization. :)

I think one of the awesome things about being a "grownup" is that you can be as mature or immature as you want. Sure, there are responsibilities, but I love just being silly in my own time. I find that it's especially great to share this with my husband. Sometimes we act like two kids rather than a married couple!

Also one of my favorites from xkcd:

Yep, definitely a bit of sexy time!

I'm childish most of the time as well, it's just every so often there's a time when even I can't believe I was that immature. A lot of times, I'm in a shop in town and can't stop myself from gravitating towards the toy department. A couple of months ago, I bought an X-Men Cyclops bobblehead and every so often, I'll tap it to make it bobble and stand there laughing. My young nephew was sleeping over at our house one weekend and he brought his wrestling action figures (he had about 20 of them) and sat there for hours playing with them. Not staging wrestling matches. Mostly they were having gay weddings :) Nephew got bored of them way quicker than I did.

That's easy!

(I'm in the second one, but offscreen. See the bald guy with glasses, the one who starts the shouting? I'm a few rows behind him. Oh, and 1:29 is teh awesome. )

^ Sports events do have a tendency to bring out childishness. When I was at college, a few of the lads used to play football (soccer) on a Wednesday afternoon. A lot of us went to the field to watch. A LOT of childishness going on there. Of course, most of us were about 16/17 so no surprise really :)

El Burro - I'm just slightly older than you (already 28) and in addition to being a Trekkie I'm a big Disney fan... went to Tokyo Disney at the end of '09 (so I was 26) and almost hyperventilated when I met Eeyore :)

I have to be intellectual and professional at work, I like being able to be a big kid once I leave.

thinking of the childish things in my life,, yep that is the total of it large child in adult uniform oh and the big baby syndrome at times if it does not go the way I want it to LOL

child like
child ish

These are almost the same, just they have different effects on our viewing audience.

So, either way it is fun to be the kid i never was.

The day I lose my child-like qualities is the day I might as well be dead. I still giggle at bathroom humor. Bodily functions crack me up.

The 3 Stooges are hilarious, precisely because the humor is so juvenile. Physical comedy, when done well, is much funnier than the wittiest pun.

Scrabble brings out the 12 year old boy in me. I always giggle when words like BONER show up. I'll never forget the day I pulled BLOWJOB out of the bag in that order.

At a family dinner just before Valentine's Day, I got into an argument with my twelve year old nephew about whether or not Robin counts as a superhero or just a sidekick.

I'm thirty-two.
