Interesting. I like the path this video is hinting at. Ultimately it comes down to the whole "back but not back" thing I've suggested before. I just hope they avoid the soap-operaness that it could entail.
Yeah, I don't want a will-they-or-won't-they drama for seasons on end, but Discovery seems (maybe overly, at times) eager to tell its story economically, wrapping things up rather than letting plot dangle. So I'd be quite happy if we get a 10-ish episode arc of Hugh rediscovering himself and, I hope, falling in love with Paul for the first (second) time. As long as it has momentum in a given direction and doesn't artificially swing us back and forth repeatedly, I'm here for it.
