Moffat hated the 3-D trailer?

Mr. Sin

Commander
Apparentally there's an interview somewhere where Moffat says that the BBC wasted money on the 3D trailer (Which was the weakest of the trailers IMO) and that it cut into the budget for the new series. Apparentally he also stated that the Dalek redesign was to get some money from BBC worldwide because budget was low or something like that?

Anybody know where that interview can be found?

Not an interview, per se.

However, I should point out that the financial walls between parts of the BBC empire are impermeable. Just because Doctor Who makes the corporation a metric fuckton of money in licensing each year doesn't mean that Doctor Who benefits from that directly. The money just goes into a pool, and it's divvied up amongst all the BBC's projects and expenses. The money spent on the 3-D trailer wasn't insignificant and could have financed an episode, true, but that money was off in another account that couldn't go toward the production of the series. And there may well be storytelling decisions, like Daleks in day-glo colors, that are done to prop up BBC Worldwide. It's unfair, but it's also the reality of the BBC.

Who didn't hate that trailer? :wtf:
Yo.

(it wasn't the best, but hate is far too strong a word)
