If you could go back to year one and give Gene one (or two) scripts from any of the TNG era shows ( and Enterprise) what would it be and how would it fit the TOS era.

For example I would loved to see a TOS version of The Seige of AR 55, maybe , Kirk Scotty, Uhura and Bones stranded on AR 55 with the Gorns or Romulans as opposed to the JemHadar

Or Data's Data as a letter to home by Nurse Chapel, while keeping the whole Romulan spy (only at the end we learn StarFleet knew she was a Romulan since the Balance of terror episode and they have been giving her false info.

"The Best of Both Worlds" would have made an excellent TOS 2-parter. Even better: that script would have made a vastly better movie than TMP did, for Star Trek's big-screen debut.

Exactly - would Spock turning down a command and Kirk becoming a Borg...

Yeah Uhura hears the music through the com channel and Kirk talking with Kevin totally do-able

I could totally see "The Naked Now" and "Home Soil" as TOS episodes...and just imagine if they took "Code of Honor" and made it about Vulcans instead....

I think Yesterday's Enterprise could have worked as a TOS episode and also perhaps Distant Origin.

TOS had already done "The Naked Time" and had done it far, far better.

Both of which were planned scripts for Phase II.

Fans have been quoting this forever. It's long past it's due date and isn't the least bit clever anymore and hasn't been for ages.

If you want something to come across as amusing then about adding a smiley or laughing emoticon along with you post for the sake of clarity.

Because...I didn't expect anyone not to get it...?

For anyone else who didn't get it:

"The Naked Now" = obvious, intended remake of "The Naked Time" (Is there a "Well, duh!" emoticon that I could use here?)

"Home Soil" = thinly-veiled remake of "The Devil in the Dark"

"Code of Honor" = only slightly less obvious remake of "Amok Time"

And you didn't seem to pick up on the laughing emoticon in Shawnster's post anyway...or it didn't stop you from explaining his own joke to him.

"Haven" too! Imagine if one of the regular TOS crew had a prearranged marriage and someone on the ship had feelings for that person!

Or Last Outpost, imagine the Enterprise and an alien ship (maybe Gorn)were fighting each other in space and then were captured by a superior race and came to the surface and battled and then the superior alien race decided humans were the more worthy race!

Wait-wait how about trying Datalore--where maybe Kirk is replaced by an android with an evil agenda, but there is one little giveaway that spoils the plan.

Or Schizoid Man--where maybe, say, Kirk, is possessed by another person's life-force and tries to assume Kirk's position on the Enterprise, but his erratic behavior gives him away.

Seems more like a bunch of TOS episodes were "updated" for the spinoff series.

The Host would've been interesting, but I doubt they'd have had the nerve to do a same sex host love interest in the end. Maybe they'd have gone with an interracial coupling instead? I like that episode a lot, but the ending is a little problematic.
I'd have liked to seen the Trill on TOS though.
