Poll MLP: FIM S8 Ep. 5 "Grannies Gone Wild"

Hello again, denizens of Sci-Fi/Fantasy and bronies and pegasisters alike! A new episode of MLP airs tomorrow and it is called... "Grannies Gone Wild." Got to admit, the title has me snickering.

Synopsis: Granny Smith and her friends are going to Las Pegasus and Rainbow Dash is the chaperone.

My thoughts: This episode could be hilarious or horribly, horribly wrong. I mean... the title is pervy!

This was really cute. Dashie wanting to ride the best, most awesome rollercoaster before it closes down sounds exactly right, and very much slice of life, and all she has to do is chaperone Granny Smith and her friends as they visit Las Pegasus. Sounds easy, right? Of course, Applejack lays down about a thousand rules for Rainbow Dash to follow before she goes, because AJ is far, far too overprotective when it comes to her family. The resulting silliness is just too much fun to miss, and there's a lot of heart in it, too. These grannies remind me of the Golden Girls. In fact, see if you can spot which one is the Blanche of the group, and which one is the Rose of the group. It's fun.

I gave this one an A-. It's a solid story, and just all around fun.

A- for me as well! You could see the frustration on the faces of the Golden Horseshoe Gals when AJ was mentioned. I also loved how they snuck away from Rainbow Dash!

Agreed! The one day every year they could get away from Applejack, and here we have RD trying to be a stickler for rules when we ALL know she'd rather break them and have fun.

Also, I loved the roller coaster pictures with the Wonderbolts earlier, where in the first one Soarin is playing it cool, while his partner is about to spew. and in the second one we have Spitfire playing chess with Fleetfoot, and it's hilarious.

I also like that Las Pegasus is essentially a giant theme park city. I wish we really had one of those. The closest you can get is Disneyland, I think.
