Slice of Life? Check! Big sister / Little sister family moments? Check! Here comes what appears to be, at first glance, a sweet slice of life episode reminiscent of The Cutie Mark Chronicles, or perhaps Sleepless in Ponyville. It's not often we get to see the ponies camping, so this should be fun!

Saw it this morning and I thought it was darling. It was a very sweet blend of camping gone wrong with tales that showed a little something of the older sisters' personalities. Because I am also a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I really liked Rarity's tale of Miss Mane. It made me think of how things might have changed between Sozin and Roku, had it been possible. But it was the fact that Miss Mane gave up her beauty that told me something about Rarity. She likes being beautiful, but she'd rather make others lovely and make them happy.
Excellent episode, so an A+!
ETA: Miss Mane not Miss Mare! :alienblush:

This was a sweet little episode. We got a nice look into some of Equestria's folk tales, and possibly how ancient ponies lived. That means more worldbuilding, which is always welcome. I like seeing how everypony has grown since the last camping trip, and continuity is always great to see. Rarity has toned it down when it comes to "the essentials," and while Scootaloo still has issues with scary stories and caves (perfectly understandable), she trusts her big sister Dash to look out for her, and that may be my favorite aspect of this episode.

That said, Applebloom's face whenever she was listening to Applejack's retelling of their story cracked me up. Rarity's story was a lovely look into how she perceives beauty, and of course Dash's story of heroism is bombastic and full of flying adventure. No epic world changing events this week, but still an enjoyable episode. This one gets a solid A.

What was your favorite legend of the three, Coloratura?
For me? I loved Applejack's story. It involved what were clearly Norseponies, one, and two, volcanoes. Plus, giggling Applebloom was too much for me to handle. :D
