Ruminations:
FINALLY! FINALLY THE EPISODE ARRIVES! We FINALLY get to see how the Princesses live, how they work, how they interact with one another! I have been waiting 7 seasons for this to come to pass and now it's here! I'm not going to preload this commentary with a bunch of... preloaded commentary, so let's just watch the episode!

This was fantastic! Oh sweet Celestia! We finally got to see the Royal Sisters in their day to day lives, and it was worth it! I wasn't surprised to find that Starlight Glimmer was called on by the map, as it's a part of her natural evolution. If she's not a Mane Seven pony yet, this had to seal the deal. Spoilers ahead.

I'm not surprised Luna and Celestia have friction. They represent two halves of the day, and while day and night get along, and work in harmony, these two sisters are only mortal...ish. They have their own personalities, they have their own frustrations, and it's building for both of them. So when Starlight's first attempt to get them together only makes things worse, she activates a spell that switches their Cutie Marks. I, for one, didn't know that could happen, especially to two Demi-Gods. That said, Starlight's specialty seems to be cutie mark magic/destinty of some type.

Seeing the two ponies try to do one another's jobs is really fun, and I can't help but enjoy Luna's attempt to smile constantly, only resulting in a huge frown that disappoints the children.
Celestia, of course, runs into the dreams that haunt her ponies, and finally encounters Starlight's, who's nightmare is the result of the stress she faces trying to deal with the two Sisters. That would be enough to stress anypony out.

Oh, and one incredible thing to note? DAYBREAKER! We finally get to see Celestia's alter ego, and she is glorious! I squee'd with excitement when she appeared.

Twilight's appearance was hilariously neurotic, and is just so much like classic Twi. It was good to see her again. This episode is definitely a top tier episode for me, and for that reason gets an A+. I can't recommend it enough, and it may become my favorite episode of this season. Only time will tell!

I think Starlight alone had to be the one to handle this. The other members of the group are too close to the situation, especially Twilight!

Forget "Lesson Zero" as Twily's ultimate meltdown if she'd had to deal with this one, lol! Whoa, "hi, princesses!"
Exactly why Starlight was the perfect choice. We even saw hints of where Twilight was losing her calm, and she wasn't even directly involved! The map understood that Starlight's personality would allow her to ask questions, and to push issues, that Twilight would have been afraid to approach.
