Ruminations:
Does it look like the Cutie Map will get used again? Seems so, as Pinkie Pie and Rarity are called to Canterlot to solve a friendship problem. We haven't really had the chance to see Rarity and Pinkie Pie do their thing together, so this should be pretty fun, as Rarity's meticulous nature and Pinkie Pie's penchant for chaos and disruption should clash nicely and give us a few laughs. This episode deals with an father and daughter who are in disagreement over their restaurant, so we'll get to see some slice of life in this, which is my thing. So onward to the show, and enjoy, because this will be the last one until the end of the season break.

Another A from me and as a cooking show devotee, it was fun to see. I won't do a full review until later.
ETA: It's later! :D
I love that the show brought up how parents and children sometimes disagree on how to accomplish life goals. Coriander had an idea of how things should go and Saffron did too. They had to have outside help in order to see how to proceed.
I also loved that Rarity had to recognize a major flaw in Canterlot society and break through it. Just because they've done something one way doesn't mean that's the best way. And I loved, though was sad for the fact, that Zesty couldn't be bothered to change her ways when it might have made her a happier mare. In real life, somepony can't take change and remains the same, even as the world around her recognizes that her way isn't the best way.
I also very much enjoyed that the Cutie Map is still working and not just going to be an oversized paperweight in Twilight's castle, or perhaps a junk table.
Finally, a BOLLYWOOD SONG and proof that Equus does have the equivalent of India!

All in all, a great episode! A!

This episode was wonderful, and a great way to cap this part of the season. Firstly, new ponies! We're clearly getting to experience ponies from a wholly different culture, and I love it! I love the designs, I love the culture, I love their practices, and I love the voices. I love the message of this episode, which is that you should always be true to who you are, and not follow the crowd just to be popular. That is a strong, solid message that kids need to hear, and quite frankly a number of adults need to hear it, too.

Firstly, I love Saffron. She is my favorite new character this episode, though her father is clearly awesome. He did have the best line of the episode, which was "Welcome to the Tasty Treat. You can eat here if you want. Or not. Who cares." That one had me rolling. What also had me laughing hard was Pinkie Pie's reaction to the food in the various 3 hoof rated restaurants. I knew there was a reason Pinkie Pie and myself would get along, and this is it to the letter. Pinkie Pie does not stand for pretense. Either deliver on your promise, or admit that you don't wish to try new things, but don't try to convince me something is the best, when it is something I find wholly undesirable and lacking in flavor.

In fact, I recall actually saying out loud "yes, yes, more life!" when they began the process of redecorating the restaurant back to its true roots. More life, more flavor! I think we can all take something wonderful away from that. I also loved the Whinneapolis couple who came to Canterlot for some excitement and adventure. The song for the episode was excellent, and had a distinctive flavor to it, much like our protagonists delicious dishes, and I couldn't help but hum along to that catchy tune. I will definitely be adding this song to my collection later.

All in all, a great episode with wonderful characters, fun situations, and a slice of life that is full of flavor. This one easily gets an "A" and leaves me satisfied as we head into the season hiatus.

I want to see an all-out Bollywood number for our equine friends now! Pony Sad Diamonds! Oooh, if I can draw a ponified Nicole Kidman as Satine, I will be jumping up and down!
