HERE WE GO!

...

This is, I believe, the final CMC episode of the series. So what do we get to see? Well, only what some of us have wondered since the very start: who will they become as they get older? What will they do if their cutie marks call them away from the group? What will they look like when they're adults? Well, the last question is finally answered when the three manage to set off the magical power of a flower that grants the wishes of the nearest pony. Of course, that happens to be the CMC in this case, and what is the wish? To be grown up, the same age as their sisters so they can go to the fair without needing a chaperone, especially since none of the Mane Six can take them (Rarity is making an order for Fancy Pants, Dash is heading to the Rainbow Factory to wrangle a bunch of errant clouds, Flutters is busy with Twilight doing research on new flora, and I have no idea where Pinkie is).

So this flower is being studied by Twilight and Fluttershy. It was sent to them by Starswirl who has no idea its origins or its purpose. It's when Twilight and Flutters head to the library to find an old research paper that the girls get in trouble.

So they make their wishes, the flower envelops them and next thing we see? Three grown up CMCs. Honestly, I really like that they don't deviate too much from what we expected, and they're all just as adorable as ever. Of course, their minds are still the same, but they think because they're grown up now, everything they do will be right because that's how grownups are, and being big is all it takes.

We get a musical montage to that effect.

So the ponies make the train and arrive in Hayseed Junction and find out they have to wait a few hours before the train to Appleoosa arrives. Instead of waiting, though, they take a few maps from the station keeper, and head off into the jungle, getting lost repeatedly, and only emerging when they hear voices belonging to two younger ponies: Biscuit and Spark. They're heading to the Appleoosa fair, but Biscuit wants to take their pet Floofy with them, but Spark thinks he'll be afraid of the crowds.

The CMC advise Spark that she has to share the pet, and so they go to the fair and before Spark can ask what to do next, the CMC head off to have fun. They ride all of the rides as Biscuit enters their pet into the most unsual creature competition.

Spark finally finds the CMC just in time for them to tell her that she has to share Floofy, or that it might be better if she left them be for a while. Meanwhile, Biscuit has already showed Floofy to the crowd. The little animal becomes stressed at seeing so many ponies and creates a giant whirlwind, destroying the stand, and causing mayhem at the fair.

Of course, Twilight and Fluttershy arrive just then, having figured out that the CMC would use the flower to wish themselves at the fair. Of course, Fluttershy sees them and adds that the CMC also likely made themselves adults as well while causing panic, and Twilight looks up in time to see just why that description would be so oddly specific.

The CMC show up in a panic and explain everything about the flower, the wishes, Spark, Biscuit, and the weird pet. They run to see what's happening and Fluttershy recognizes it right away, saying that the pet would calm down once it sees its owner. Biscuit admits that Spark was always the one who took care of Floofy, and so Twilight orders the CMC to find her Fluttershy head off to protect everypony until they return.

Not long after, Spark is brought back with the CMC and she calms the little bugger. Afterwards, Twilight and Fluttershy explain to the CMC that being bigger doesn't mean one is an adult. Spark and Biscuit discover that the CMC were foals all along, and younger ones at that. The CMC apologize to the pair, and they accept the apology under the condition that next time the CMC bring along an adult. Laughs ensue, and scene.

This was a great episode! Yeah it was simple, but think about it: so many of us were curious just what would happen to the CMC. They got their cutie marks, and then it seemed like they would be counselors of a sort. Then things kind of meandered. We still don't know their destinies so much, but now we do know what they would look like as adults, and I have to admit I've always been curious, especially after all of the fan art I've seen over the years. There are several artists who practically nailed it, too.

All in all, an enjoyable episode. This one gets an A-.
