Summary: "Pinkie Pie seeks help from her old friend, the super silly Cheese Sandwich ("Weird Al" Yankovic), in finding her life's purpose. Through a brand-new song and a few special surprises, Pinkie Pie is rewarded with a very special revelation."

Ruminations: We're back from mid-season hiatus! On the plus side that means more pony. On the down side, that means only 12 episodes left until the end of TV broadcast MLP G4 forever. *sniff*

Anyway, this episode sees the return of Cheese Sandwich, and a reprise of Weird Al Yankovic doing the voicework, which means I'm going to love it even if all they do is sit on the grass and crack jokes for 23 minutes. On to the episode!

**SPOILERS**

Pinkie Pie is getting antsy about her purpose in life, and wants to know what she'll become, her true calling. She has brought the rest of the Mane Six together to inform that that she has been sent an invitation from Cheese Sandwich inviting her to his new funny toy factory. Unfortunately, when Pinkie arrives, she sees a somber, worried Cheese Sandwich who is worried that he has lost his laugh. He's desperate for Pinkie's help in finding it once again.

She makes it her mission to make Cheese laugh again, but no matter how hard she tries, nothing seems to work. Cheese is ready to give up, and believes there is nothing that will make him laugh ever again.

Fortunately, Pinkie solves the problem by realizing Cheese hasn't seen anypony actually laugh at his jokes, that he needs to get a crowd response to feel funny, to believe in his humor. In real life that is a real thing, where comedians aren't sure if they're funny if there is no crowd by which to bounce off of the routine.

He doesn't believe her at first, but when he accidentally mixes up his words and causes an employee to chuckle, it revitalizes him. We get a Weird Al/Cheese Sandwich song, too, which is just... you can't get more bang for your buck!

Cheese realizes he needs to leave the factory, and has his second in command, Sans Smirk, run the factory in his place, offering to review new gags while letting the nuts and bolts of the operation be handled by Sans and the other employees.

Pinkie Pie comes to the conclusion that her purpose is to make ponies laugh, to be the party pony she has been all along. That is her fulfillment. Thus, Pinkie Pie's arc is generally resolved, with 11 full episodes left to go.

This episode was pretty simple, but Weird Al is a treasure who is always worth watching and listening. It would be a B in any other situation since not much happens and it's more exposition heavy than anything, but with Weird Al involved it's an easy A.
