"After mocking it as an 'egghead' pursuit, Rainbow Dash discovers the joys of reading while laid up in Ponyville Hospital. Can she finish her book before her friends discover her secret?"

Well, that was..I thought...

I dunno. There wasn't anything wrong with it, and it was pretty good, I guess, but somehow it didn't grab me. I kept being way too distracted by the schizophrenic technology (push-button lamps and flashlights, but a lantern made of fireflies) and Rainbow's rampant Anthrpomorphic Shift-ing to really enjoy it. Not sure what that means, but I'm abstaining form grading right now.

Yeah, I'm rewatching it and all but I wasn't sure what to think about this one from the start.

I love Dashie but the writers are really dropping the ball on her stories lately. Daring Doo was the best part of the episode, that would be an awesome spinoff show.

The thread is a ghost town. Where is everybody?

*crickets*

Anyway, the best episodes this season seem to have come from characters we'd least expected. (Applejack. Seriously?) It's been surprising and thrilling, but also sometimes disappointing.

Oh – somebody on EqD brought up that the episode's problem was trying to make reading exciting by referencing old movies. I hadn't thought of it that way, but I think they have a point; it's basically watching someone else watch their internal television, and it doesn't quite work.

Yeah it didn't quite work the way they portrayed it, having the story sequences as B/W, sepia or something might have worked better.

And it's been going that way for weeks, the Bronies are just waiting and watching the episodes later in the day, it's really only two or three of us watching the live stream.

I loved it! Easily one of my favorites this season. Finally a dash episode i since s1e16 i enjoyed througout!

A+

^Screw Loose was awesome  Murdock reference maybe?

The "squee squeak" back twice, Pinkie nearly twisting her head off, the rushed discharge (that had the chat room errupt with Obamacare in Equestria comments), the Firefly lanterns from Luna Eclipsed back again, one of them snorting, all the crazy faces.

Lots of little things to love, but overall it still fell fairly short overall.

Great episode, loved it! I'm a big Dashie fan, and I wanted to see what they would do with her, and I think it was very true to her character. Loved the effort to get kids to enjoy reading, loved the Dashie G1 pony moment, loved the stir craziness over the course of one minute (as my av hints :D), loved the "petty theft" comment by Twilight and the "ruckus/fracas" debate by Pinkie and Rarity.

All in all, a great episode and a solid "A". :D

She broke her Primary Marginal bone, the X-ray was probably blurry so it could have been clean enough and wing bones aren't quite like internal ones, but less than a week to fuse then toss her out? and trust her not to use it for a week? Seems legit

One slight question though, how did she get back to her cloud home? we know Fluttershy doesn't have the strength to lift her and if she had Derpy do it she'd have been right back in hospital.

I thought this episode was hilarious! Sure, we all knew Dash would like reading after this, but it was fun seeing her get into the story. And for me, it was also fun figuring out the Indiana Jones references. Was anyone else thinking of Last Crusade when Daring Do was jumping across those tiles? "In Latin, Jehovah starts with an I.." "J..." CRACK!

Yes! I was thinking the same thing!

It was okay. We were pretty much just watching Rainbow Dash read a book -- not the most exciting of premises. I'll give it a C.
