MLB 2023 Season: Rangers are going hunting for Snakes

My Uncle just posted pictures of his grandson and some of his former high school ballplayers in the bleachers behind center field on Facebook.

That was a wild ride. The Diamondbacks (barely) got more hits, and drew more walks, and still wound up eating dirt 11 to 7.

As they say, it's not just a matter of getting a lot of hits in nine innings, it's a matter of getting a lot of hits close together in nine innings.

It's too bad they don't have four REAL starters. Having only three real starters is not gonna cut it.

The Padres might be literally broke. Per The Athletic, they took out a $50 million loan in September to cover expenses and payroll. (They actually asked MLB for permission to take out $100 million, but the league only allowed them to borrow up to $50 million because they were worried about the Padres being unable to comply with the league's debt servicing rules.)

Yikes.

Teams that have never won the World Series:

Padres (2 appearances)
Rays (2 appearances)
Brewers (1 appearance)
Rockies (1 appearance)
Mariners (0 appearances)

Sometimes being traded a lot feels bad, other times.....it works out fine.
The past three World Series champions are the 2021 Atlanta Braves, the 2022 Houston Astros and, now, the 2023 Texas Rangers. They all have one player in common.

Left-handed reliever Will Smith (not to be confused with the Los Angeles Dodgers catcher or the actor/rapper) finished the season sipping World Series champagne for the third straight year on Wednesday, making some wild history in the process.

Smith is the first player in not just MLB history but also across all of the big four men's North American sports leagues to appear in at least one game for three different championship-winning teams in three consecutive seasons...

Shouldn't the 2023 WS at least be up for preorder on Amazon by now?

Usually the WS BluRays are available for preorder in mid October (before anyone even knows who'll be IN it).
