Cleveland's Josh Naylor had 8 RBI from the 8th inning on to defeat the Chicago White Sox. He had an RBI double in the 8th, a grand slam in the 9th and a three-run homer in the 11th.
Justin Verlander's no-hitter against Minnesota ended in the 8th inning with a single. But Reid Detmers no-hit the Rays. He is the 25th rookie to throw a no-hitter.
Today's White Sox-Guardians game has been postponed due to multiple positive COVID results in the Guardians organization.
Christian Yelich hit for the cycle today against the Reds. It was his third time. His first cycle was also against the Reds. His second cycle was also against the Reds.
Having seen a fair amount of Brewers games since I've been dating a Wisconsin woman for almost a year ... basically the Brewers' bullpen is sketchy as hell.
That was one hell of a slugfest in Chicago last night. On my way there to catch the rest of the Yanks/Sox series. Hope the rest of it measures up!
Friday Night Baseball in 4K is incredible. I don't know why they sullied the broadcast with Brian Jordan, though. That guy is the worst commentator in Atlanta and that's saying a lot.
Is that the same Brian Jordan who use to play for them? I don't think I've ever heard him as a commentator before.
Yes. He's been with the staff for a long time mostly doing pre and post-game work but he's been filling in for Jeff Francouer while Jeff does his national TBS games. I don't particularly like listening to either one to be honest.
Ex-player absolutely does not equal good commentator. The Cubs (Marquee) rotate 3 ex Cubs in and out of the TV booth. Ryan Dempster is likeable and generally knowledgeable. Ryne Sandberg is just OK. Rick Sutcliffe is an annoying idiot I'd like to punch in the face.
To be clear, I wasn't suggesting that. Just wanted to know if it was the same guy. I mean, let's not get Tim started on Joe Morgan...
Unfun fact: Brian Jordan called the double OT thriller football game between Ole Miss and Jacksonville State in 2010. Ruined that for me too.
