Yes, the extra runner on first in extra innings is here to stay, and double-headers have games of seven innings each.

Because Rob Manfred hates baseball and, damn it, I hate him right back.

    Wait, what?

    7 inning double-headers? Seriously?

Started last season as a COVID response; now, like the magic runner thing, it's just entrenched in the Official Rules.

I noticed during this year's games at Yankee Stadium that the manually operated scoreboard in left field is blank. I assume this also has something to do with covid?

If so, does this also apply to the Green Monster at Fenway Park?

Giants got their first sweep of the season. Yeah it was against Colorado, but the pitching looked really strong. Really excited for the series coming up against Cincy. Reds started strong but they didn't have a good series this weekend in Arizona.

James Paxton pitched only one and one-third innings this season and he's already heading off to Tommy John surgery.

The Cubs currently own the worst team BA in MLB at the moment with a .164 mark. A new low in flaccid batting.

Historic low BA's In A Season:
    AL Chicago .212 1910
    NL Washington (Nationals) .207 1888

That's just sad, guys. At least keep it above the Mendoza Line.

Gets paid for the season, and has surgery on the Mariners' dime.

Last year was our "Mendoza year", with most regulars around .200 and the team BA was .220

Yeah, but it still sucks. Couldn't get through the second inning of the first game of the season and then he's toast for the rest of the season, will be out for at least part of the next season, and may not even get back to the majors considering his injury history and age. Awful way to go out.

Reds up 4-1 and one into McCovey's Cove. That Giants pitcher has one Hell of a slider.

That was a crazy first inning. First time in Oracle Park history that 4 home runs were hit in The First inning.

The A's started the season as poorly as one can imagine, but are slowly and steadily creeping back up the standings.
It's nice to see them manufacture runs rather than just swinging for the fences, but their starting pitching is very, very shaky.

Cubs had another wonderful game, getting 4 hits and losing 7-0 to the Brewhahas.

Keep an eye on the Atlantic League, an independent minor league that's a testing ground for a lot of the dumb and/or crazy shit Manfred has been trying since he became commissioner.

Two things they're testing this year: moving the pitcher's mound back a foot, and a "hybrid DH rule" that ties the DH to the starting pitcher.

They haven't messed with the distance in, what, a hundred years? Of course Manfraud wants to screw with that.
