The glorious and magnificent Houston Astros 1, Tampa Bay fried fish sticks 0 in the ALDS.

I shall try and remain humble and courteous while the Astros dominate the galaxy. :p

Meanwhile, the Braves charged back at the Cardinals! Tied series, heading into St. Louis.

Girardi will get an interview with the Cubs next week along with Ross and Venable.

    Loretta also interviewed yesterday.

God damn it. I don't want Girardi near this team in any way. I agree that a firmer hand is needed, but a hyper-high-strung redass like Girardi is going way too far. As I said a few pages ago, it'll just be Lou Piniella 2.0. There's a balance point between being "let's all hug and smoke a joint and it'll all be okay," like Maddon, and "YOU'RE RUNNING FLAGPOLES FOR AN HOUR YOU SACK OF SHIT, HOW DARE YOU TAKE THAT PITCH AND NOT SWING" like Girardi. He's also known to be intensely dismissive of analytics.

In a perfect world, the Cubs would throw a few million at Bochy and see if he'd come over for, like, three years to maximize the ROI on this core group before free agency starts hitting and everyone starts getting monster contracts. (And as it is, they already need to start looking for a new 1B, because I don't think Rizzo's going to last more than three or four more years, he's breaking down quickly.) I don't want a retread like Hurdle, and I do not want someone like Beltran or especially Ross (who's still very much buddy-buddy with everyone in the clubhouse; a lot of players still refer to him as Grandpa Rossy). But Girardi can stay on MLB Network or whatever.

Nice pitching by the Nats last night (though it got a little tight in the 9th!).

Good game, taking HFA from the Dodgers.

^ Meh, it's no worse than, say, Red Sox fans doing the "Yankees Suck" chant.

Yes, "Yankees Suck" is absolutely on the same level as being classist shitheads bagging on a guy who has to drive a car in the offseason in order to make ends meet.

Yankee fans are the worst.

The Braves had a great comeback in the ninth inning against Cardinals! They were one out away from losing their second game, but were able to turn it around for a 2-1 lead. :D

My beloved Cardinals are embarrassing themselves. It is maddening that they are in one of their patented “inability to hit” times when it most counts.

And if I am forced to listen to and see the Tomahawk Chop again...

I wonder if the Washington fans got tired of standing and waving their red towels every time one of their pitchers got two strikes on a Dodger hitter. The Dodgers did virtually all of their damage with two strikes - even 0-2.

Yeah, no one team has a lock on chants like that.

Atlanta up 4-3 in the 7th. Here's hoping (since I hate the fucking Cards mostly).

Tampa said "no sweep for Houston" winning 10-3.

    *sigh*

That was the Braves' game to lose...and they lost it. At least we're heading back to Atlanta.

The Twins current playoff losing streak has now reached an impressive 16, 13 of which are against the same fucking team.

Now I remember why I don't follow them much anymore.
