I'm sure if you showed up there with a big enough truck to haul it away, Jeter would let you have it and it could be in your back yard by the end of the day. ;)

The New York Mets, the best team in baseball has won again. Lock it up now, superbowl champs, going to Disneyworld and the rings. What, they loose the next 30 in a row. Is this Ready, Player Two and we’re inside the Complex and it’s run by Keith Hernandez and the prize is Bobby Bonilla’s one million dollars.

I think they have. Laurence Leavy, "Marlins Man" (or as I like to think of him, this generation's baseball version of the rainbow wigged "John 3:16" man), has said he will not attend Marlins home games for the first time since the franchise first took the field in 1993 (he's had prime season tickets every year since 1993). He offered to buy three years worth of four Diamond Club level seats for $200,000 with the check up front. Because he was paying cash and paying upfront and because the team got rid of its stars, he discounted the offer by 20 percent. The Marlins turned him down.

He's said he'll take "Marlins" off his orange shirt, and will consider wearing another team's shirt if any are interested.

    I love small-sample-size baseball.

This post brought to you by Javy Baez and the Very Good, Not Bad, Extremely Sustainable .486 ISO.

Edit: David Price left last night's start after an inning, saying he felt a "sensation" in his hand. Uh ... that doesn't sound good.

As if I needed another reason to hate Thom Brennaman. Fuck that guy.

People are trying to cover for him, "he didn't mean it that way". I hated him as a Cubs announcer in the early 90's and didn't miss him when he left.

I mean, Steve Stone was an ass, but at least he was tolerable alongside Harry.

Stone was great with Harry, and he was really great in that first go-round with Chip Caray (who was, and is, abominable). When he came back after that bout with valley fever, though, holy shit was he bitter.

I ended up liking Chip about as much as I liked Brennaman. Obviously it would've been cool to see Harry I & Harry III together. Maybe Chip would've been more tolerable alongside his grandfather.

    Harry was the greatest.

    "Herr spelled backwards is RRRRRREEEHH!"

It's been a pretty crazy start so far. I can't imagine he can keep this up over the whole season, but it's sure fun to watch.

We're going to the Freeway Series in July, and I am working my rosary beads overtime in hopes of an Ohtani/Kershaw match-up.

That it was even played in those conditions is some bullshit.

It's a shame the Cubs were even in the position to have to come back like that. Their starting pitching sucks and their offense isn't far behind.

Six games were postponed today because of rain or snow (although two of them were part of a double-header). I wonder what the record is for a single day.

Yeah, I was bummed. I was all ready for Ohtani at 11:00, but no game for me!

    :(
