While I'm currently experiencing a very nice cool weather period, a lot of us still seem to suffer from hot weather. This contest is trying to help these poor souls among us. Whether it's real ways too cool down from the heat, or if it's of things or places that are cool. Entries may be no larger than 200x200 pixels and/or 1 Mb data, no NSFW images are allowed, and fictional/dramatized media is excluded. Two entries per user. If you don't like the rules, be cool about it and follow them anyway. Here's my first entry:
what does NSFW mean? I googled it and can only find "not suitable for women" which in the context doesn't make much sense.
that doesn't quite make sense either, unless you mean it's forbidden to post for example a fool jumping headfirst into shallow water.
"Not safe for work" means it's nothing that could get you in trouble in most offices. Mostly no nudity, or at least no naughty bits. Personally, I don't have a problem with naughty bits, but Goodle has, and the board would lose ad revenue.
oh! a don't violate board rules caveat. Sorry, I am not normally that dense but I didn't get much sleep last night and part of my brain appears to be playing truant..
I can't believe I misspelled Google as "Goodle". As if there's anything good about it (aside from ad revenue for the board, obviously). Anyway, here's my second entry:
Well, everybody might as well quit submitting entries. It's clear that cats liking ice is going to win.
you know I looked for that image cats licking ice I did not know where to find it ... luckily it was already here.. my submit comes from Reddit I hope that is not too commercial you know.
* checks rules just to make sure we weren't required to include an animal * No, OK. Exactly. The kind of images, that if you posted them at your desk at work, or viewed them on your computer at work, would end up with you having one of those discussions with HR that you really don't want to be having with HR...
Chinstrap penguin in the nice, cool Antarctic snow: Emperor penguin chick learns to swim (only 5 months old!):
According to the website where I found the photo of the Emperor chick, the adults teach the young how to swim much like flighted birds teach their young to fly: They just push them off the ice floe into the water and they'll either sink or swim.
