Mirror Universe

I was watching one of the mirror universe episodes last night.
I think maybe titled, Resurrection, it's the one where Vedek Barial ( Kira's Boyfriend, the Vedek) comes to the station. Other than there being some issues with the episode,
It occurred to me that all of these people that live in deplorable conditions in the other universe have beautiful skin, and beautiful teeth etc. :ack:
seriously?
I know how could they fool "us" etc.
but really it doesn't make any sense.
The mirror universe "vedek" lived as a criminal/ theif for most of his life, for the most part people that live a hard life look it.
It just bugs me. I think they could have had them look a little tougher than the regular people living the Utopian life on the station.
Any thoughts on why they didn't do this with the characters?

Dental care must be very accessible in the mirror universe. This reminds me of the DVD commentary to Excalibur when the director said he wished he dirtied the actor's teeth because knights in the dark ages shouldn't have such shiny teeth.

It might be more common to see crooked teeth in medieval times, but most people, especially a knight would have clean teeth.

Lol. People 50 years ago had horrible teeth.
A LOT used to get them pulled all out.
I just have to imagine it was worse in the dark ages.
I just can't picture knights reining their steeds into a Walmart parking lot and loading up on Crest whitening toothpaste.
