Miniature Editions Tricorder

I've been going back and forth about whether or not I should pick one up, but I already have the playmates TNG Tricorder (not the medical one, just the plain one). Is there any improvement over the playmates version? And if so, would it be enough to justify picking one of these little guys up? Thanks!

Size matters not. As the 24th century progressed, the tricorders kept getting smaller and smaller anyway. If the lights, sounds and details are impressive enough, I can always just pretend it is a late DS9/TNG film era tricorder. :D

When he says "small", he means VERY small. This is like the mini Phaser and other small lighted collectables that have come out recently.

It's less than 4 inches long so, something like half scale or so...

My first ever tricorder from TNG was this little keychain that flipped open and had lights and sounds. It was only one sound and lasted a few seconds, but the screen and top lit up i think.

It was neat to me as a kid, especially since it was the late 90s and it was the only Tricorder I was able to get in person. Then ebay came along and I bought a playmates Tricorder from someone off the internet, thinking it was the most amazing thing at the time. Still have that tricorder to this day over on the shelf next to me.

I always wanted one of the Master Replicas Tricorders. They were too expensive when they first came out when I was a kid. Now, they are triple that expensive price (I'm assuming, I highly doubt they are cheaper)

It would be nice if DST or Macfarlane toys would jump right on that and give us a TNG/FC tricorder please

Unless you were cosplaying as a humanoid giant of some kind. Trek needs more giants.

Also, @Sophie74656 care to post pictures? :)
