Mini-Seth Rogen Death Watch Thread

Tulin

Vice Admiral

Just saw Margaret and David reviewing "Get Him To The Greek" and I have to agree with the ogres from AICN's talkback.

This guy is getting L A R G E.

How long do we think it will be until he does a John Belushi/John Candy/Chris Farley and shuffles off his mortal coil?

I say he doesn't make it to see the Mayan calendar expire.

Yeah that's the guy - we just call him Mini-Seth Rogen or even just "Seth Rogen", since he has played Rogen's characters younger self in about four film flashback sequences.

It's also a play on the fact that they both seem interchangeable.

And he played the part originally written by Seth Rogan for himself in Superbad...even though Jonah Hill is only a couple of years younger than Seth himself...

Jonah Hill isn't nearly as funny as John Belushi, John Candy or Chris Farley...so, no matter how fat he gets, he'll be around forever.

The fucker.

Belushi & Farley were 33, but they met early deaths largely due to drug abuse hindering their health. Candy wasn't so much, & lived to be 44, while pushing like 380lbs. I'd say that unchecked obesity begins to become a real danger in the 40's, perhaps earlier, if it is morbid obesity, like shut ins who can't fit through a door

Hill is only like 26 or so. If he's not further polluting himself to dangerous levels, & living some crazy wild life like those others, then he could easily survive past his 40's, even longer if his weight problem isn't a major one

The real question is will his career hold out for another 20 years? He isn't really all that funny. He'll likely be forgotten before his heart gives out

I'm tired of both guys indeed. I don't think they are funny and are just too everywhere and seemingly hip to be really cool. It's getting annoying. I liked Superbad, but now all the films are just copies of each other. How long does it take to write and film these stock frat films? It seems like we get one at least every six months.

Eh my husband likes them, but I think this new young Frat subset pushing out Stiller, Ferrell, and Corell will burn out in a few years.

He's part of that Judd Apatow machine where they do their three or so movies and then vanish.

The only exception to that so far has been Jay Baruchel, which I am glad to see. He's proven he has some acting ability, unlike Jonah Hill.

^ Yeah, I agree that this thread is in quite poor taste. Why am I not surprised that someone like Tulin started it?

Yeah, it's surprising because I didn't think you could scrape the barrel any more than you already had. Guess I was wrong.
