Spoilers Midnight's Edge has Picard "spoilers"

My absolute nightmare-scenario is that Kurtzman & Co. are actually the type of people that watch "Midnight's Edge" with the goal of incorporating fan-feedback.

That sure as hell would be a better explanation for their complete 180° of entirely abandoning the DIS-universe and worldbuilding at the end of the last season and basically start completely from scratch now.

That scenario is SO dumb that I'm frightened it actually might be true...
The Section 31 series is set in the 23rd century. While most of the Disco characters have moved on to other things, CBS-AA Trek hasn't abandoned anything.

The Section 31 series is set in the 23rd century.

Are we sure about that? As far as I know, the show hasn't even officially been greenlight, and is in the same will-they/won't-they- limbo as ST4 (although with much better chances at the moment).

Like, Ash Tyler appearing there is just fan speculations, isn't it? The only thing confirmed is "Michelle Yeoh", and she's currently in the far future. Apart from that, it's "earliest after DIS season 3", and "scripts are being written, but no production has started".

I know this is purely speculation on my part: But IMO it sure as hell looks like they are giving the 23rd century up entirely - and focussing on Picards era & whatever they put DIS in. I guess neither "Lower Decks", that animated kids show, nor S31 for that matter will be set in the 23rd century anymore, even if that might have been the plan at some point in the past.

I imagine if the 32nd/33rd Century is a hit with audiences, Section 31 will be set there, possibly with a timetravel element to enable cross-pollination of eras.

I'm almost certain Kurtzman confirmed that the S31 show would be 23rd century. I might be wrong.

So, it would essentially be the never-produced Gary 7 series. Does Georgiou get a cat as her sidekick?

It is, as of about a week or two ago.

Not that I don't believe you two, but do you have a surce for that?

I've been following these Trek projects pretty close, and S31 is the one they are the most tight-lipped about, so much so that literally all "information" we have is mostly speculation, including weather that show has actually been green-lit or not.

The last, actually official statement I heard was "it's a couple of years away":
https://trekmovie.com/2019/03/11/cbs-executive-gives-status-update-on-star-trek-section-31-series/

And none of them mention the 23rd century in any way. So if you got a source - especially from Kurtzman himself - that would be greatly appreciated!

Guys...granted this thread has a spoiler tag, but people would expect that to pertain to the Picard show, not Discovery Season 2.

But the nature of the spoiler would also be a spoiler for both Discovery AND Section 31 shows...
This thread has been on thin ice with me anyway, since it's basically reporting fake news. Don't push it. Spoiler rules apply for Discovery Season 2 in this thread.

Edit the thread title to say "(includes Discovery spoilers)". If somehow this rumour is true, it's silly to discuss this spoiler but not be allowed to talk about
Ash Tyler and Leland (his rumoured predecessors)
, or the upcoming show
called Section 31
.

It's like entering a thread about Spider-Man: Far From Home and complaining people are talking about Avengers: Endgame.

Uncoded spoilers about Endgame should totally be off the books in a thread about the upcoming Spider-Man film, to my knowledge.

Anyway, I said don't push it and I meant it. Fake news thread closed.
