Michelle Yeoh will feature in Discovery, possibly as lead

Star Trek: Discovery has found its first star! Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon‘s Michelle Yeoh is set to headline the CBS All Access series, Nicholas Meyer just confirmed to CS. Meyer, who helmed Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, is serving as a consulting producer on Discovery. Although it is unconfirmed at this time, Michelle Yeoh’s role is quite likely the series’ lead, a female Lieutenant Commander.

So she's definitely in it in some form; her role is purely speculative.

Nice!

I'm guessing she's the "female Admiral" character, 54 seems a little old for a Lieutenant Commander.

Glad to finally be hearing some news at the very least! Great pick-up for DSC!

Good adition, in a multicultural cast, this is a good choice;

Somehow, I don't think so. Michelle Yeoh is 54, which is pretty old for a Lieutenant Commander. Although Starfleet doesn't seem to have an up or out policy and indeed many of the actors who have played Lt. Commanders were in their forties, or in the case of Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton and Michael Dorn in Nemesis, their fifties so I guess it's possible.
