Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well since I am going away for the week and won't be near a computer this is a good time to make my one sappy post of the year.

I sometimes post about my struggles with depression and social anxiety and how it has limited my life in many ways. It has left me very isolated from the world at times and isolated from human contact. This was the first full year I was active in the group here, and just being here and being able to interact with everyone has meant a great deal to me. It is a special thing in life to find a community of good and interesting people(even those crazy ones we keep in the basement). Just knowing I could come here every day and share the serious and the silly with you gave me a bright spot in life no matter how bleak everything else seemed. This new year brings the promise that perhaps for the first time in my life I can create an authentic life for myself. It is not the life I always dreamed of, but it may be a good and happy one. I hope that kind of promise can be fulfilled for everyone here.

So Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and I look forward to a new year and a new decade with everyone here at the wonderful Star Trek BBS!

It is almost 7am Christmas morning here. I think I will wake my sons up soon so we can open presents. As far as Christmas is concerned I am the impatient child in my household.
