MercadoLibre -- eBay-Like Site -- Have You Used It?

I've been searching for collectibles that, so far, I've seen listed only on MercadoLibre -- seemingly an eBay-like site. I don't speak Spanish, but the site looks legitimate. Have any fellow USA residents ever purchased anything through MercadoLibre? What were your experiences like?

If it matters the items that I'm considering purchasing are on the Argentinian version of the site.

I've never used it, but when I clicked on "US" it went directly to eBay, which kind of indicates it's run by eBay.

ETA: They are partners with eBay, and are number one in that market for Latin America.

Interesting about them being partners.

The sites' listing databases seem to be different, because the items that I want to purchase are listed on the Argentinian version of MercadoLibre... but not on eBay.
