My main issue with the first picture is that it just looks really cheap and cheesy. The games actually look more realistic.

I wonder why they've chosen to adapt this game instead of the first one.

It could be just the quality of the stills themselves but this and Tomb Raider look like cheap convention cosplay. More recognisable than Last of Us which was (unpopular opinion) a pale imitation of its source material.

The Fallout approach is the best way to go.
