Sounds great!

I've been going nuts waiting to see how this one turns out. I did pick up that the other girl was in on it in some way. I wasn't thinking that she was like certifiably nuts or anything, but when she went on about how her mom was "probably knitting something" instead of looking for her, it was obvious that she had mommy issues....what a sick cry for attention. :wtf:

I'll be back to vote and discuss later. :)

Damn. I thought the episode would be tragic but not that tragic. I'll miss Anjelica Huston. I hope they can figure out a way to bring her back if she wants to - great chemistry between her & Allison.

This is the first episode of Medium I have ever given an excellent rating - and just for the ending. I always liked Cynthia Keener and I will definately miss the character. I hope that this isn't the last that we see of her. Maybe this could be another Devalos vs. VanDyke story.

I have to wonder this though:

There is a Joe in real life
There is an Ariel, Bridgette, and Marie
Kenneth Push (Texas Rangers), Devalos, and Scanlon are all based on people she knows

I wonder if there is a real Cynthia Keener out there.

That ending made me cry, it was so tragic. I kept on hoping next weeks episode would be Devalos defending her.

^ It did the same for me. The entire ordeal was tragic enough without Cynthia sacrificing her freedom for it. I have always loved Angelica Houston and her performance was amazing. With one look, she conveyed the loss, pain and redemption the character was feeling in that moment on the stairs. Of course the last line just killed me. Like a child she asks Allison to sit with her, as if she was her only friend in the world. It made me wonder, was Allison the only person she had left? In her search for answers, did Cynthia drive everyone away? And those last words were also representative, at least to me, how this rather harsh cold woman had been reduced to ashes, her purpose done, her mission finished. Again the entire thing was quite tragic and sad, so much so I am still chewing on it today.

And I gave it an excellent as well. For some reason, this episode clicked for me and everything just fell nicely together with the first part. And its funny. I would have though this second part would have been about continuing the mystery but instead it was more about proving the case. Granted this is something they do all the time on this show (which is very CSI of them) but I just wasn't expecting that story direction for this. I think it made the theme and elements much more powerful though. It was all very well done. It is episodes like this that make me love this show.

that ending was just heartbreaking.

i liked how the whole ordeal with her daughter explained cynthia's incredibly strong interest in missing children cases, and how important it always was to her to constantly update the parents.

oh, and joe's thing about a new career. :guffaw:

I completely agree. A lot of people had problems with the character from what I remember and this episode completely explained her in my opinion. She was so driven that she did drive a lot of people away and we even saw that she tried that with Allison a couple of times. I had hoped though that she wouldn't get turned in for it, but I don't think that would have done the character justice. I do hope that she gets defended though and a fair trial, though the evidence paints it badly for her...

Just wanted to add. Medium has been renewed for another season. It will return in the winter of 2008/early 2009.
