So I think that he should go back and take what TOS established with the Klingons and ratchet that up. Meaning no more monosyllabic, pseudo Vikings barking about honor and Stovokor and other useless crap. I want them to be a real threat! With the Vulcans severely crippled, they can make their play. Anyone else agree?

We got plenty of Klingon over the years in the movies and various series. I don't see how JJ could improve on that.
I pretty bored with Klingons now because of the oversaturation of them over the years. The Borg suffered the same oversaturation.

Yes. I hope so. And I'm looking forward to seeing a new interpretation of Klingons based on their legend and not their previous appearences.

I dont mind Klingons appearing in it, maybe as a minor threat but frankly we went through so many hoops to establish this new timeline where anything can happen that it seems kind of a waste to retread older movies. I'd like to see some otherworldly threat, a la Doomsday Machine or V'Ger

I wouldn't go for trigger happy barbarians either, they don't make for a plausible space faring civilisation. But arrogant, domineering and often sadistic bastards out to trample anyone that opposes their rise to dominance.

JK. Actually, the tortoise shell heads can stay. Maybe they can even ratchet up their alieness a bit more. I don't know. Any designers here?
