Thanks to everyone that voted for me last month. Here in the UK its the general election day.
Never before has the interest in voting been so intense. We have a very strange and unfair vote. We don't vote for a president. We vote for the party. But the party with the most votes doesn't guarantee a landslide victory. The party with the most seats ( local elected members of parliament ) wins power. Unless one party doesn't have a majority of seats then a coallition government is formed. Bonkers whoever come up with that!
I'd much prefer to vote for 1 person, a president style election. So its inspired this months challenge. Imagine your favourite Starfleet hero had resigned and gone into politics hoping to be next UFP president. What would a poster for the election look like? And what would they promise the people based on their personality?
Would McCoy promise free laughing gas to all pointy eared logical walking computers? Would Kira promise to rid the galaxy of the Cardassian threat? Would 7of9 offer sanctuary to all former borg drones? Would Scotty bring in prohibition on synthehol?
