Moffat: "Matt told me that he'd worked out this plan that they'd both continue in Doctor Who: do five individual episodes each and three together -- would that be ok? It was a nice plan. I think if I'd said yes they'd have gone for it." Damn it, Moffat, why did you say no? That would have been the greatest thing ever! (And yes, I'm saying this as someone who's been critical of Moffat's work.) It might not have made sense narratively, and it would have really stretched the format, but it would have been fun! Moffat, the implacable enemy of fun.
