"Masks" Line-by-Line

Hello, Welcome!

We recently finished our "Babel One"/"United"/"The Aenar" Line-by-Line over in the ENT Forum!

After each completed thread, we're randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner, this time around was Gul Re'jal! And Gul Re'jal has chosen "Masks" as our next Line-by-Line challenge!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes, each episode is a separate thread.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I or CoveTom, BlueStuff, Enterprise1981 or LeadHead, will run the randomizer to determine who will pick the next episode and get it going.

Now, put on your masks, and make your posts accurate to within one point three percent!

Deanna: (to a girl) That's very good. (to a boy) Well, that's very nice.

Eric: But Mrs Narsu said we should try to make our sculptures as realistic as possible.

TROI: She's right. It is important that you be able to make the clay take the shape you want it to have, but you're not supposed to be concentrating on technique today. I'm here to help you focus on the feelings you want to convey with your sculpture. For instance, what do you think about when you see a bird?

TROI: Fine. So, make your sculpture make me think of flying, too.

How's it going, Data?

Data: I have finished.

Data has made a perfect clay PADD

Data: The dimensions are accurate to within 1.3 percent.

TROI: I'm sure they are. Data, you obviously don't have a trouble with realism, but you're here to work on your imagination. Maybe you should try something a little more abstract. Here. I want you to start a new piece. I'd like you to sculpt music.

Data: Counselor, music is a collection of acoustic vibrations. How can I reproduce a sound with clay?

TROI: Well, think of the effects that sounds have on people, the images that music brings to your mind, and then give it a form.

(Data sculpts a treble clef)

Troi: It's a start.

Riker [OC]: Riker to Data. Please report to the Bridge.

PICARD: Captain's log, stardate 47615.2. We have encountered a rogue comet in Sector 1156. It is not native to this region of space and there is no previous record of this object on Federation charts.
