My wife was at the dentist yesterday (brave soul) and she told me she read in a magazine that JIM CARREY was thinking about doing a MASK II. Well, first off, I didn't care for MASK I, so..I'm not thrilled. But I know that movie had a big following out there. Would you be in favor of a sequel to his movie, or has Carry become to old for the part??? My wife is really asking this, so the poll is really for her benefit...

Okay....a JIM CARREY-MASK sequel...Mask 2.5

Quality of unrelated sequels means nothing. Just look at all the cheap straight-to-DVD crap out there -- Hollow Man 2? Boogeyman 3? Cruel Intentions 3? American Pie? Bring It On?

Anyway, since salaries always get increased for sequels, wouldn't Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz alone be like $40 million of the budget? Neither are where they once were in their careers. I can't see The Mask being a mega blockbuster. It isn't Indiana Jones or John McClane.

Anyway... Didn't Jim Carrey sign a $10 million deal for a Mask sequel back in '94 or '95? I remember it being the deal that put him over the 10 million dollar mark.

I can't imagine anyone being paid $10 million to be in that piece of shit movie "Son of the Mask". Didn't the entire movie cost like $5 million to make or something?

I thought this thread was going to be about M.A.S.K.

I'm sad now. :(

Dude, I totally thought the same thing. Maybe we could get a live action M.A.S.K. movie like G.I. Joe is getting.

You can dream. (That would actually make a kickass summer blockbuster.)

This is what I thought too...

Hmm, we should try to come up with a MASK fantasy movie cast list. :D

BTW, I see that three of the great toy franchises of the 80s are now united into the same universe - GI Joe & Transformers already had a crossover, and now MASK has been retconned into GI Joe. Which sort of makes some weird sense given their vehicles transform and now they could have developed that tech by studying Transformers.

So a MASK movie could now be either a Transformers OR GI Joe movie spinoff... ;)

All we need is to somehow integrate He-Man into that universe and perfection will have been achieved.

I loved M.A.S.K. as a kid. That show was awesome. I especially loved the toy where the missile launched from the back of the semi-truck.

Regardless of his actual age, his act became old about halfway into the first Ace Ventura movie. So, I say, please no more Jim Carrey antics on film.

I endorse and/or approve this idea or product. :bolian: But only if they also include the Visionaries. :D

Is that the one with Cher???

Rob
:guffaw: That was a nice movie, though.

I loved M.A.S.K. ! I still remember parts of the theme. I have not thought of that in 20 years. My favorite was the blue 57 Chevy that turned into a tank.
