Mary Wiseman as Cadet Tilly for Discovery

Make her Risian, have a human female hitting on her, who gets put in her place for racial stereotyping.

I do not want new aliens I want the known races of the federation at that time trill were from that time.
What makes you think we saw all of the aliens in TOS that were known to the Federation during the TOS time period?

During the run of TOS, there were weeks/episodes when we saw a "new" alien that wasn't shown before. Just because the show ended after three seasons, that doesn't mean we saw every alien known to them by the end of that third season.

Aren't there dozens and dozens of unnamed aliens in the backgrounds of the films? Wouldn't it be fun to actually name them and give them back stories?
Perhaps, as long as said stories shed light on the "human condition." The existential crisis experienced by the Pulgasian Crystal Singers when they discover anti-matter might be a fun off the cuff reference, but we don't really need to spend an episode on it...

^ Depends on who the host is supposed to be at this point in time. It's probably either Audrid or Torias.

Definately not Torias per @rhllot above, I'd say either Emony (who met Bones <2249) or Aurid (probably either a researcher or diplomat during this era as she apparently wasn't TSC Head until 2264 (from TrekLit)).

'Tilly' doesn't sound like a very alien name, so she's probably human.

Then again, the Klingons have General "Chang", so maybe it's just a coincidence (again).

A Caitian would be great
