Marvel tv :Hellfire Club in development at Fox, Legion at FX

Is Shaw dead?

Unless Magneto is really bad at the whole "killing" thing, Shaw is either dead, or a lobotomized piggy bank

Well, he is a mutant that really didn't age from WW2 until the 60s, lobotomized is not dead and he might get better.

Mostly dead means he's a little bit alive!

Well, I think the implication is that he was very dead. He didn't age, but we didn't see him having a healing factor, and you can be unaging without being unkillable. I mean, they could go either way, and since they'd almost certainly have to recast him I guess they could make him alive, but I think him being dead is what the movie intended.

You're probably right. But Kevin Bacon was on TV staring in the Following, so he might want to do this one. Somebody can fix his brain, like Dr. Hfuhruhurr.

It does sound from that interview like they are going to be set in the X-Men movie universe.

As for the Hellfire club, haven't there been different incarnations over the years, with different characters? I know there was an all kids version in Wolverine & The X-Men (the comic, not the show), which I doubt very much will be the basis for the show. Haven't there been other versions between the kiddie Club, and the Frost/Shaw version?

I would have been happy with nobodies, but instead they hit it out of the park.

Anticipation level rising.

The only one of them I'm familiar with is Jean Smart, but she's great, so that's enough for me.

(Not to mention the tricky continuity issues with the two Hank McCoys, the two Emma Frosts, and the two Bolivar Trasks.)

Though trailers and promotional materials called Tahyna Tozzi's Origins character "Emma Frost", in the film proper she was only called "Kayla's sister/Emma". Similarly, though Bill Duke's character in X3 was no doubt intended to be a filmverse version of Bolivar Trask, the film didn't use a first name and just called him "Secretary Trask". So these things allow at least a little wiggle room.

That's a pretty strong cast so far! Dan Stevens was really good in "The Guest" last year.

Wow that looks great. Definitely a very different tone and style from the X-Men movies.
