I think it's time Netflix/Marvel Studios should cash-in on Deadpool and Son of Zorn's successes and make a Netflix show out of Steve Gerber's creation for a show. I mean ever since that cool cameo by the cult Marvel character at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy, it gave ideas.
Sure the George Lucas 1986 movie was a box-office disaster/critical disaster and was hated by some fans of the source material saying it missed the point and it came out in a different time, i think nowadays with a talking raccoon film is accepted, i believe a show can do him justice.
James Gunn who is a big fan of the comics can produce the show and co-write some scripts with Seth Green and be faithful to the original comics and new comics. Howard can be 2D animated and everyone flesh and blood as it can be like Roger Rabbit/Son of Zorn/Cool World with a hint of Deadpool especially the 4th wall breaking humor like the comics.
First have Howard/Rocket together in some shorts so people would get to know the REAL Howard (the comic version) and then have his own show.
