Well, this is certainly on the street where my idea lives, but I'm not sure if I've got the right house ;). I need to work on my Kirk, and the lighting needs to be completely redone - it's not too far off, but because I used a negative light to try to darken the 'outer world,' my shadows also came out negative! I didn't expect that one! :wtf: (though I should've, I suppose)

I see Kirk has his "mid season" paunch. Nice touch!

I've seen you use that "action figure" in a few other renders. Did you model and rig that?

Sincerely,

Bill

Yup, that's from my "Pōztix" line; I'm still working on the mapping (harder on these shapes than I thought it would be!) and accessories. Kind of a "Stikfas" for Poser ;).

I just made the Spock hair for this challenge; I'm thinking about making a full line of textures and props, now ;).

Second attempt:

Completely rerigged the lighting, and modified Kirk somewhat; I'm still not happy with him, though - I need to sit down with pix and do a side-by-side comparison, because off the top of my head, I'm not seeing what is wrong.

I also decided to drop the DOF and let Jamie shine ;).

Nice, if I had to say whats wrong with Kirk, it would have to be his head isnt big enough!

Make his face wider, and tone down the chest, he didnt have pecs quite that developed.

Ok, I'm missing part of the humor here. Why is Kirk human and Spock is a toy? I get the idea that the girl is looking down at them as if they're both toys, but...

Ziz, it's really no deeper than "I wanted to use my Pōztix figure as Spock, and have both him and Kirk as characters trapped in Jamie's playset." OTOH, if anyone offers a good backstory to explain that picture, more power to them :bolian:. I wasn't really going any further than Spock's play on words ;).

biotech, I think you're onto something there; I just watched "That Which Survives," and the first thing I noticed was that Kirk's head isn't that small compared to his body. As for reducing the size of his pecs, well, that's how the shirt was modeled, and I'm afraid it's probably more work to reduce them, and do it smoothly, than it's worth for this picture ;). The paunch is much easier, with just one magnet applied. But I still have two weeks to get his face closer; besides, I need an accurate Kirk for the project, so there's no time like the present ...
