Congratulations! It is great that he has again found someone he wants to share his life with - he has been divorced since, what, 1992 or 1993? It doesn't come as a surprise as I knew that he's been in a serious relationship for the last few years.

Those panels make me realize how long its been since DS9 ended.

The Dominion panel...more like the greying face of evil!

What are those pants Brooks are wearing? They go up to his nipples!

Obviously having never met him I can't judge, but by reputation he seems like a nice guy and I'm very happy for him! I doubt he'll be on the forum to read this, but CONGRATULATIONS, Mr. Alaimo!

Oh how I wish I could have attended!!! I didn't find out about this convention until Tuesday last week. The terrible part is that I was off from work the exact days of the convention, but the price was going to be too high with flight and hotel since I would have literally booked at the last second. I know it's rare to get that much of the DS9 cast at a convention. Maybe next year...

I don't understand why they don't film more of these panels. Not only would it be nice for those who didn't get to go, but it'd preserve them for all time.

From what I've heard, there have been some real gem moments at some of these things over the years.

I guess they want you to pay to go... but I agree with you, I think they are missing the boat. They could even put it behind a paywall where you had to subscribe.

I have been to a couple conventions- a long long time ago. I've seen Patrick Stewart (great, and very cute!) Marina Sirtis, (nice), and Nana Visitor (great, and extremely nice. I talked with her then husband for awhile while waiting inline. He was watching their son run around. I would say this was around 1994 or so... This was in the Cincinnati area, and I remember her husband saying he had an actor friend that grew up around here. I asked him who it was and he said "George Clooney". He wasn't as big then, but it's interesting to think what has happened to him since! Anyway, they were all really nice, and I gave her son a lollipop. :-)

If I had known there was going to be such a presence of DS9 alumni I would have gone too. Plus Jeri Ryan? Cherry on top with that.
I'll have to watch out for the news for next year.

I could even forgive the lousy vendor area for this.

I'm guessing the Creation doesn't want to shell out the $$ royalties they would have to give to the actors. I know that if Brent Spiner sees anymore video taping him, he will walk off the stage immediately. But don't dismay folks, Creation only had 20 volunteers this year (from 65 last year) and no one was walking the auditorium to check for video taping so keep your eyes on YouTube.

Thing is, they could get together w/ Paramount and put out a Highlights DVD every few years, sell it, and not only pay for the royalties, but make a profit. Everybody wins.

I hope there will be more reports from the convention (and maybe a few more of those videos on YT, maybe this time with some of the DS9 cast as well). It helps me get over the fact that I can't go to those conventions... until I decide to spend a lot of money again on a holiday abroad (my bank account is still hurting from my summer holidays in Italy this year). Maybe I'll go to Fedcon or some other European convention. I would so love to see 'What Shakespeare Left Behind'. Jeffrey Combs as Juliet, this has to be great!

I've read those comments by Robinson many times before, but this is the first time he mentions Liberace! Well, Garak was always rather camp, but maybe this also explains his occasionally tragic fashion sense (ironic for a tailor)!

Speaking of which, Avery Brooks' fashion sense can be weird, can't it...


I found it interesting what Robinson said about Cardassia real life parallels: "Robinson said he didn’t think a comparison to Nazis was good for Cardassians, and he thought the Roman Empire or the Prussians was more apt."

Oh, and Nana Visitor is just gorgeous and so youthful-looking.

He seems like a nice guy sometimes, but a bunch of sites have removed a lot of his bio- esp. past mates. I know he's been married and divorced twice for sure. His kids have all been born the same day he was, which is... interesting... ?

Well, it's been 11 years since the show ended, I guess many websites just aren't interested in keeping info about DS9 actors.

According to the website "Lolita Fatjo - Bringing the Stars To You!", 5th May may not be really the date he was born.

Michael Joseph Alaimo was born in Milwaukee, Winsconsin, USA, as son of Italian immigrants (coming from Puglia and Sicily). Unfortunately no one knew, when exactly he was born; anyhow his birthday is celebrated on the 5th of May.

I know a few more biographical tidbits, including about his former marriages, which I've read on Yahoo groups and such, but I don't want to come across as a stalker. I've even seen daughter's Facebook profile - she posted on FB group about Dukat 'Ha, ha, that's my dad'.
