Manu Intiraymi (Icheb) saves Trek in Düsseldorf

As the original organisators go out of business and did tell this, fans and actors (!!) 3 days before, Manu was already in the airplane when he got tweets from fans what happend.

He is now in Germany, Düsseldorf, and wont get paid (by the organisators), also his hotel room was not paid.
Even those horrible circumstances, he is very nice and agreed to meet some fans.

We, the german/austrian fans now organise a fan meeting in the same weekend and hotel, because a lot cant cancel theirs flights/trains/hotels without loss and so come anyway Düsseldorf. And Manu has to stay here to wait his back flight - i hope at least this is paid.

He was the only actor who did this for us - thank you Manu

Keep the fingers crossed for Manu that he has a nice weekend with us. I want to point out that its not german habit to not keep contracts and the fans also lost a lot of ticket-money.

My conclusion is: never buy anythin long in advance, instead you really know the company.

Worst thing is: organisators are well protected as company is a british LTD whith no personal risk to pay depts. Sucks really.

If you paid by credit card, you should be able to get the convention fees back. The incidental travel and hitels, I'm not so sure about. Bad luck.

this will be exactly what i do: just weeks ago i bought my ticket and so i contact master card

Most others did buy long in advance (vip dinner and meets and greets are sold quick) and dont have that option.

After this weekend, at least i can say: i had fun
It was a lot impovised but with 70 fans als personal and it was no problem to talk with manu, while smoking or in the bar.

I was not fan of Icheb before, but i appreciated his dark humor and honesty. He told how hard the business is now, from 100 gigs you get maybe one part.

I told him why i liked voyager and he was a bit puzzled.

We saw a screener from Renagades and some other projects i never heard before, but Renagades looked really good.

Maybe he was extra nice because we got so fucked up with our tickets. I never saw him before, so i can't compare.

We alle where in a shit situation, him even worser when he stood in front of hotel check-in and no room reservated

When he ran by accident through a foto i took of my friend. He: sorry - and I: come here with us and he really let me take the foto again with him.

One point i dont agree with him was he said that the subtext Janeway / 7 was not the writers intention "that was made up". For sure subtext is done for fanservice and to get the gay community to watch. Maybe the writers just did not tell HIM because he was young and innocent.

He said its sad there was no gay character in star trek and today that wont be an issue any more. (hope writers/producers think same).

He had his girlfriend with him, young, smart and pretty. I dont believe that girl would be with him if he where not a nice guy.

for my ticket money i am also lucky i payd with cc, because those payed with paypal dont get anything back, this paypal protection is just for material goods, not for tickets.

How do others think about this long in advanced buying of tickets? It seems to be usual, but in one year a lot can happen - you even could die, at least you dont mind then any more that the tickets are lost.

I would never buy a year in advance if I was only spending that much (VIP ticket etc..) because of a particular actor. They cancel all the time. It seems a bit.. "we have no money for this let's fundraise by selling tickets and then see if we can pull it off".

So what happened? Who has the money and why can't you get it back?

Manu just had his flight payed and got no money from original organisation in advanced.

I can just guess how it could happen because you expect that an actor ask at least for part of money before hand, but as he jumped in last minute for Scarlett Pommers who did not come

He got now, from the new team that saved the event, his hotel payed. But a gage he did not get, he has right to take legal action to the old organisator, as all other invited and not payed stars could, but when a british LTD is broke, what sense does that make?

However, it was fanservice and he is now well known in German Fanbase. This has also a value.

If and when we get ticket money back, time will tell. It takes weeks till Master Card gives answer when they check a complain. We try all possiblities, for sure.

I also did not buy premium in advance - never needed that. Others did and lost more.
